The North Santiam Historical Society was created to preserve the North Santiam Canyon’s long, rich history and is dedicated to making that history available to everyone. For almost forty years, NSHS has served as a repository for the Canyon’s memories by collecting historically significant artifacts, photographs, maps, and books, along with written and oral histories. Two historic buildings, the Canyon Life Museum, educational programs, and a quarterly newsletter fulfill NSHS’s mission to share that history today and preserve it for future generations.
